Kinchkha Waterfall and the two Okatse destinations
Kinchkha Waterfall is the waterfall destination described by the protected areas agency as Okatse Waterfall. It is separate from Okatse Canyon and its suspended walkway. That distinction matters when choosing an excursion from Kutaisi: a visit to a waterfall and a walk above a gorge are different experiences, even when the name Okatse appears in both descriptions. Start by deciding which landscape you want to see, then compare the complete route.
For a day with both places, choose the combination that names Okatse Canyon as well as Kinchkha. For a cave, waterfall and river-canyon day, the alternative route links Prometheus Cave, Kinchkha and Martvili. The Okatse Canyon guide explains the suspended walkway; this page focuses on the waterfall, access planning and the services of the departures that include it.

Marked access and a realistic walking plan
The agency describes marked access from Kinchkha. Its undated nature-monument description gives a 2.1 km route and 25 minutes, but these figures should not be used as a universal walk from every parking place or vehicle drop-off. Establish where your actual visit starts and how it returns to the vehicle. That is more useful than planning the day around a photograph of the waterfall alone.
Treat the outing as a visit along the designated access route. Plan for walking, stay within the visitor arrangements and leave swimming out of the itinerary. If different members of the party want different amounts of walking, settle that before choosing a day with several nature stops. A vehicle-based excursion still includes time outside the vehicle, and the full tour duration includes much more than the waterfall visit.
Canyons, a tasting or a cave combination
The 8 hour outing from the Colchis Fountain combines Okatse Canyon, Kinchkha and Martvili. It includes a guide, transportation, a small-group format and a cultural stop with an Imeretian khachapuri tasting. Lunch, boat rides, personal expenses and entrance fees are extra. The tasting is therefore a specific food element of the day, rather than a reason to assume a full meal is provided.
The 5 hour cave, waterfall and canyon combination offers hotel pickup in Kutaisi. It includes a driver-guide and an air-conditioned vehicle, visiting Prometheus Cave, Okatse Waterfall at Kinchkha and Martvili Canyon. Its Okatse stop is the waterfall. This option suits travellers who want that particular set of landscapes without adding the Okatse suspended walkway to their expectations.
The 9 hour combination whose title also names Lomina Lake includes an air-conditioned vehicle and guiding in English and Russian. It starts at the parking area in front of the departure office. Use the title to identify the offered combination, while comparing the actual services separately. Choose it for its stated itinerary rather than assuming extra lake activities, meals or admissions.
Admission categories and the rest of the day
The undated agency tariff page, consulted on 5 November 2026, lists 20 GEL for foreign adults and 12 GEL for Georgian citizens or residents, with identification required for the domestic rate. It also lists a child category and free entry for young children. For a family booking, establish which category applies to each child; an adult nationality category should not be replaced with a domestic rate simply because it is cheaper.
Check visiting hours and the admission arrangements for your date. Keep local charges in GEL separate from the EUR tour price, and do not build a budget around a combined ticket covering several places without checking its scope. Read about Martvili Canyon for the separate weather-dependent boat element and Prometheus Cave for the distinction between its walking and additional boat sections. These activities require more planning than just choosing a sequence of photographs.
Questions before you go
Does an Okatse Waterfall tour visit Okatse Canyon?
Read the itinerary by the full attraction names. The cave, waterfall and canyon combination visits Kinchkha, Prometheus and Martvili. The canyon, waterfall and food combination names Okatse Canyon as well as Kinchkha.
Is food included on the waterfall outings?
The 8 hour canyon and waterfall outing includes an Imeretian khachapuri tasting. Lunch is extra on that product. The other listed inclusion sets focus on the vehicle and guide, so arrange meals separately.
Can I use the route description as a parking-to-waterfall walking time?
Use the marked-route information as an orientation. Your vehicle drop-off and the access arrangements determine the walk for your visit. Establish those details when planning the stop, particularly with children or travellers who want less walking.
